JEWELLERY CARE

SILVER OXIDISATION

Silver naturally tarnishes over time and can develop a yellow or dark colour. This is not a reflection of the quality of the silver but a natural occurrence. All of our jewellery can be worn all the time however some things can cause oxidation to occur quicker, such as certain skincare products, chlorine or salt water. Your skin and pH balance can also cause silver to tarnish. To avoid this you can remove jewellery when swimming or before using hand cream, moisturiser or perfume. Or you can just let your jewellery tarnish and watch its unique patina change over time. Gold and platinum are less reactive metals and therefore do not tarnish in the same way that silver does.

Every order includes a silver polishing cloth which is impregnated with an anti-tarnish compound so you can keep your jewellery sparkling.

GEMSTONES

Some gemstones are harder and more durable than others.
Read the product description of each piece to find out each stone’s qualities and how best to take care of them.

CLEANING

Jewellery can be cleaned at home with warm water, gentle washing up liquid and a soft toothbrush. It’s especially good to clean behind stones to keep them looking their sparkliest. Dry it well with a soft cloth. Be careful not to get certain gemstones too hot, especially opals. Care for individual stones will be specified in the product description of each piece.
